What I find Unique about Trees

This tree captivates me

And so

I

walk

closer with my feet on the grass moving nearer.

This tree humbles me

As my eyes move up,

then left and right

To see just how vast it is

To know just how firm its roots are

And its depths have got me grounded.

This tree fascinates me

Its dark green colour catches my eye

Its lush leaves are a beauty to me

I feel I’ve found a form of treasure.

This tree gratifies me

A source of shade when the sun gets harsh

Shelter when storms arise

Comfort when I need to rest my head

To Think

To read

Or to sleep.

Yes, this tree nourishes me

I stretch out my hand

Hold unto a branch

And I bring down a delicious fruit and smile.

But this tree distracts me

O to seek the fun of running around it

O I wonder how far I’ll get if I climb it

This tree has brought me joy on a tense Monday morning.

An inspiration to find myself

An inclination to lose myself

With a pen, notebook and a prayer, I’ll write to you about This Tree.
